Instructions:
Step 1: Using a rotary cutter and ruler cut 2 strips of leather that measure 1.25” wide & 48” long. Set one of the strips aside for now.
Step 2: Place the remaining strip with the rough side down and the pretty side up. Now is the time where you decide how you want your stars placed on the strap. There are no rules to this process- make it your own!
Step 3: Using double sided craft tape place a small amount on the backside of your chosen stars. Place the stars onto the leather strip using the tape. This tape is forgiving so don't hesitate to move your stars around until they’re in the perfect spot.
Step 4: Once the stars are placed, punch holes straight through the center of the stars into the strip of leather.
Step 5: When all of your holes are punched, insert an extra small rapid rivet through the hole, snap the cap on and hammer it down with a metal hammer. Be sure to place something very hard under your rapid rivet before you hammer it down. I use a piece of thick metal plate.
Step 6: At this point your stars should be attached to one of the 48” leather strips with another strip off to the side. Working with the unadorned leather strip place 2 rows of double sided tape down the length of the it.
Step 7: Peel the backing off the tape and attach the two 48” leather strips together. Make sure you tape the rough sides together!
Step 8: Now run this strap through a sewing machine to seal your edges.
Step 9: Cut off the excess stars (optional).
Step 10: At the ends of the strap you should punch a hole about a half inch from the end and another hole 3 inches further in from that. Attach the swivel snap and secure with a medium rapid rivet. (These rivets attach the same way as the extra small rapid rivet.)
